Meanwhile, below are some pictures taken at the Bazaar - November 5. They're all from the outside, where folks were doing demos and helping with the Silent Auction. The inside of the studio was way too crowded to take pictures in! For interior shots, be sure to scroll down to see photos taken the day before the Bazaar.
Good news - we had another fabulous Fall Bazaar last weekend, and after being closed for a week, the studio is open once again for members to work in. When we have our CAC Meeting next week (on Tuesday, November 15th at 1 pm) we will celebrate the wonderful job that everyone involved did to make it all come together so beautifully. At that time Patty & Betty, our fearless Bazaar leaders, will announce the dollar total that the Bazaar brought in to support our club. And in addition, we raised another $380 for the Rossmoor Fund, through the donations that folks who came to our studio gave in return for the small cups made by many of our members for that purpose. Yay! Meanwhile, below are some pictures taken at the Bazaar - November 5. They're all from the outside, where folks were doing demos and helping with the Silent Auction. Lots of photos from the day before, taken during the final set-up phase!

We are getting ready for the Fall Bazaar, which will be happening this year from 9 am to 2 pm on Saturday, November 5. It is our club's major fund-raising event of the year. Lots of CAC members are currently very busy making and finishing their creations for the Bazaar. As usual our studio will be closed for the week beforehand, since that's when we clean it thoroughly and transform it into a beautiful gallery showcasing the beautiful ceramic pieces we're offering for sale.
All of our members are urged to help out - before, during, and/or after the Bazaar! Sign-up sheets for specific dates & tasks are now posted on the chalkboard in the studio. Below is the detailed schedule, from Oct 29 to Nov 7 (that's the date we will re-open for artists to come in and work). Here's a slideshow of photos taken when our studio was all set up for the Fall Bazaar. The photographer is Ralph Atkins, a good friend of Patty Taylor - whose interest and skill we really appreciate! As you can see, our studio made a beautiful Gallery - and we had the best Bazaar ever. Now it's back to normal. The studio has re-opened, just in case you are ready to get your hands into clay again. **** I know that I am - see you down there! Yes, it was really great! Patty and Betty did a superb job of organizing things and keeping everything working like a well-oiled machine, once again (it was Patty's 3rd time and Betty's 2nd time at doing this).
The "Gallery" in our studio looked stunning and attracted swarms of people to browse and to buy. Everyone who volunteered had a wonderful time - while working hard. Bottom line, more income for our club was generated than ever before. Kudos to all involved! The photos below are mainly from the day before the Bazaar, the exception being the first one (of Betty showing a display of fish-themed sculptures and dishes on one shelf). Stay tuned for more photos as we acquire them. The Fall Bazaar is happening Saturday, November 7 - from 9 am to 2 pm that day our Studio will be transformed into a beautiful Gallery full of all sorts of ceramic treasures! Come in and check it out - and invite your family and friends to come!!
Here's a slideshow of photos that were taken by Judy and a friend of Patty, of our club's displays and demonstrations, etc., at the Bazaar on November 1st. Everything looked wonderful! First off - some snapshots from the Rossmoor Fall Bazaar (on November 1), which was a fabulous and resounding success for the CAC. We had even better sales than last year, and everyone commented on how beautiful our studio looked. Most important, everyone involved had fun and felt great about it. Kudos to Patty and Betty, our fearless leaders! Here are some miscellaneous photos: two from our last Show and Tell, Lucia beside a display of her beautiful ceramic artwork currently being shown in a gallery in San Ramon, and Ellen Sachtschale holding up a pot she'd just made in the last session of her Garden Art class.
Patty and Betty are in charge of all this, and have been doing a fabulous job. A great effort was made on cleaning day. We even washed all of the bats - you've never seen such a clean ceramics studio! And we actually had fun doing it all together. Then there was the decorating day - more hard work, and more fun. The place looked great when we were done! Tomorrow is the Fall Bazaar - our biggest fund-raiser of the year. We may set a new record, thanks to all the CAC members who've worked so hard and made such beautiful ceramic pieces for us to offer.
Folks have been very busy lately, making things for the upcoming Bazaar as well as for themselves and their loved ones. Lots going on! Note: the studio will be closed for working with clay next week, as we'll be preparing for the Bazaar on Saturday November 1st. It's from 9 am to 2 pm - come by and check it out! |
