CAC’s Outdoor Studio - General Rules
The Outdoor Studio is for use by CAC members only (no guests).
Bring your own clay, tools and brushes. Take them home when you leave! Nothing other than CAC’s shared supplies & equipment is to be stored in the Outdoor Studio area.
When working with the wedging table, slab roller and/or wheels, open the canopy shade at the entrance to the area. Also close it when you leave, if no one else is in the area.
Put newspaper on tables before you work on them.
When using glaze or underglaze, fill containers for your brushes with water from a designated water bucket. Afterwards empty the dirty water into a separate jar (labeled).
For hand building, use designated water bucket for cleaning hands & equipment. Only clay is to go into that water! Do not wash anything with glaze or underglaze on it there.
In the wheel area, use the large blue water container for cleaning your hands & equipment. Only clay is to go into that water! Do not wash anything with glaze or underglaze on it in that container.
NOTE: Do not use the water faucet or hose. The hose is for Raku use only.
Clean off and dry all tables, wheels and shared equipment that you’ve used with paper towels when done. Also return anything taken from the storage cabinet to its proper place.
Put your own greenware on a bat and place on one of the designated shelves to dry (or to finish later). Put a tag with your name and date on it on each bat.
Move your work along. Take it home after one week.
The last person to leave should check all gates and lock up. Also close the canopy shade to the wheel area, if it is still open.
Everyone is responsible for keeping the area clean and organized!
