Membership in the Ceramic Arts Club - and How to Join

*
CAC MEMBERSHIP:

The cost of membership in the Rossmoor Ceramic Arts Club is $10 per year, with an (optional) additional charge of $15 per year for a locker (please read the next section, just below, about our requirements for joining the club). All active members of our club are asked to volunteer for one or more jobs in the studio, as the dues alone do not cover our operating expenses.

Our fiscal year runs from the first of July through the end of June, so membership must be renewed in the month of July. A roster of CAC members is printed each year in September, then distributed (free) to all members.

The Rossmoor Ceramic Arts Club currently has approximately 190 members of ages ranging from 55 to over 90.  Their abilities in ceramics range from beginners to very experienced potters and sculptors.  Our members generally work on their own or in small groups.  Some active members may work only a few days a year, while others might work in our studio almost every day.

HOW TO JOIN CAC:

It is required to be a Rossmoor resident and to take an Orientation Class in order to join the Rossmoor Ceramic Arts Club. Each Orientation Class consists of four sessions (4 hours each). These classes are offered two or more times each year, at a cost of $30 per person.  Everyone who takes an Orientation Class is provided with a small set of tools, a supply of clay and a booklet about the club's procedures, rules, etc. Participants learn the basics of working with clay as well as the layout and functions of all areas of the CAC Studio. After this class has been completed, each participant may then join the Rossmoor Ceramic Arts Club and have access to all club activities. For information about when future Orientation Classes will be offered, click on the Events tab above. (There is always information about classes and other CAC events in the Rossmoor News as well - check the current issue.)
Note: check out "The Scoop" on this site for current happenings at the CAC studio - with photos!
